Woodford Golf Club proudly supports the growth and participation of women and girls in golf. Our weekly women’s competition is held every Wednesday and is open to all female members and visitors with a valid GA handicap.
As a signatory of the R&A Women in Golf Charter, the club is committed to creating a more inclusive environment for women and girls. Reflecting this commitment, we recently appointed a dedicated Women’s Director to our Board.
AGF Girls Scholarship Program
Since 2023, Woodford has proudly participated in the Australian Golf Foundation (AGF) Girls Scholarship Program. This initiative has played a vital role in developing young female golfers within our club. One participant has gone on to win back-to-back Junior Girls Championships, while another has become a valued member of our team—frequently seen as the welcoming face of the golf shop on Saturday mornings.
In 2025, the club took another significant step forward by forming its first-ever Junior Pennant team, made up of three girls and three boys, showcasing our commitment to equal opportunities and junior development.
Recently the club took centre stage on the GA Website with an article on one of our Junior Girl Members.
